Acura NEXERA Vision Redefines the Future of Acura Design
Acura is looking toward the future with the debut of the Acura NEXERA Vision, a bold new concept unveiled during Monterey Car Week. Making its global debut at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, the NEXERA Vision introduces a new design direction for Acura, inspired by the brand’s challenger spirit and 40-year legacy of performance, innovation, and style.
A New Chapter for Acura
The Acura NEXERA Vision was designed at the Acura Design California studio in Los Angeles under the guidance of Yasutake Tsuchida, Acura Creative Director and Vice President of Auto Design.
The concept represents more than a design study. It previews the future look and feel of Acura vehicles, beginning with the upcoming fourth-generation Acura RDX Hybrid arriving in the coming years.
According to Acura, this new design direction focuses on disciplined proportions, sculpted forms, and the seamless integration of advanced technology. The result is a concept that feels both progressive and authentic to the Acura brand.
Bold Exterior Design
The NEXERA Vision delivers a dramatic first impression with a wide, powerful stance, a long dash-to-axle ratio, and a sleek one-motion cabin design.
Finished in Matte Titanium, the concept features a striking exterior with metallic depth, sculpted muscular surfaces, and a bold new lighting signature. Its dramatic dual-hinge butterfly doors create a memorable entry experience and reflect Acura’s performance-focused DNA.
The concept also includes active aerodynamic elements, including an active rear spoiler designed to help manage airflow, improve high-speed stability, and support braking performance.
Performance-Inspired Details
Acura continues its performance story through advanced materials and engineering details throughout the NEXERA Vision.
The concept features 22-inch centerlock wheels, a first for Acura, with a 3D directional design, matte anodized finish, and forged carbon fiber inserts. High-performance carbon ceramic Brembo brakes are visible through the wheels, reinforcing the vehicle’s performance character.
Forged carbon fiber is also used across several exterior elements, including the aero-channel fascia, rear diffuser, rocker panels, and inner door structures.
A Preview of Acura’s Future
While the Acura NEXERA Vision is a concept, its influence will be seen in future Acura models. Most notably, Acura says this design direction will begin with the next-generation RDX Hybrid.
